The problem/danger of diagnostic labels

like all other names

does not lie in their potential utility

for psychological thinking

or communication between therapists

and/or insurance companies

but rather with clients who may acquire them

and fall into the illusion that their diagnosis

is some thing they have

like a disease caused by germs, etc.

rather than a descriptive label

for who they presently are in some ways

itself potentially invaluable for seeing 

and moving on to who they may yet become
